    June Post 15 06 2026

Well we’re back, its been a frustrating time “Off the air” for the past week or so, probably caused by me doing something without being sure what, but thanks to some wonderful detective work by the Happiness Engineers, here we are. I wonder how much of their work is caused by beginners lack of competence? anyway, a big thank you to them, I wish I had their patience.

After getting things working again, I spent a few hours looking around for something relevant for you to chew over in the second half of June, since even the deadly constant flow of brinkmanship displayed in the media dulls the consciousness after of years of exposure. By the way a big thanks to those of you willing to go against this tide, it became evident that some of you are passing the message on: at one point in the investigation of what went wrong I saw some names of viewers that weren’t familiar to me, a big thanks everyone, one day when I get off my training wheels I might find a way and time to send a more personal thanks.

Meanwhile a development that caught me unawares. No sooner had it become evident that there was good news on the overpopulation front, it became equally evident that the reality-blind, populate or bust believers are getting into top gear.

We should not forget to remind them of a few awkward facts, like Earth is not an infinite supply of life’s essentials, some are already in short supply, like fresh water for example, and fertile land, over-fished seas, and probably the most basic of all, living space.

It’s a well-known fact that overcrowding leads to stress and aberrant behaviour in the animal world, and the evidence is growing that we are not immune to this. So, at risk of being called ”The anti-everything brigade”, acquaint yourselves with a few of these, mostly self-evident, facts, and it’s not too hard to think of a few that aren’t listed here.

    Talk to you again, soon

  • Second Post for May

May is over in about an hour, and I was about to abandon the idea of a second post for this month, but I took a brief look at a few of the many organisations dedicated to “Ban the Bomb” (an outdated but useful name) and was disappointed to find that personal views and politics had in many cases muddied the waters, resulting in a lack of focus on the objective – simply to reduce, eventually to zero, the number of these suicidal devices.

We can all play a part in this, our governments and their various Prime Ministers, Presidents, and so on know full well that there would no winners of a world war, but seem to be unable to speak openly about it. It is time for we, the people, to let them know that we demand positive action in the form of more meetings, more open discussions and more agreements between the heads of our countries, large and small, dedicated to find acceptable ways to reduce the stockpiles of these unacceptable weapons. Let them know every time you get an opportunity, that your vote will only go to candidates who come out loud and clear that their top priority will be universal staged disarmament. But how to achieve this?

Those of us lucky enough to live in democracies, scribble the message on the backs of your ballot papers, gather in public places and wave your placards, organise demonstrations, revive the 1970’s chant “Hell no, we won’t glow”- it’s as valid a comment now as ever. The survival of our civilisation depends on us, and too many of us are in denial of this simple, terrible, fact

For the young it could be fun,

to show the world your might,

and know, without a doubt – you’re right!
