Second post for June

Never thought I’d have time for a second June Post, but since there seems to have been a bit of a surge in interest here at the half way point to the first year, (I heard at the start of this adventure it can often take this long to get a blog going), I suppose I should be cautiously optimistic about it. All the more so since a lot of what I have to say doesn’t really inspire dancing in the streets! So I am taking this opportunity to encourage you to feel good about what we are trying to do, don’t let the seemingly impossible size of the task get you down, and do allow yourself to be happy with what you’re doing.

I’m declaring the first 6 months of sillyoldblogger.blog a success, here is a little token of my appreciation for all the help I’ve been given, I hope it’s worth a laugh, just click on this:

By the way, you’ll have noticed frequent changes in our layout over the past week or two, this is the result of a battle of almost theological proportions between a poor old novice blogger, technologically challenged and brought up in a tradition of reading books from start to finish, and a younger generation of technically savvy family members, who are more comfortable with what amounts to a living record of the present as it happens, the past being a record of events which might be useful in offerring some clues as to how we, supposedly the most intelligent beings in existence, have ended up being on the verge of what songwriter Barry McGuire described as “The Eve of Destruction” Here’s an optimistic note to end on – Barry released that song in 1965 – and we’re still here!
